This is an action toy, with some die-cast metal parts, of a science fiction/anime character or item.
First appearing in Gerry Anderson's theatrical release "Thunderbirds are GO" and later in the first episode of the TV series "Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons," the gigantic ZERO-X was a solar system exploration spaceship and the first manned craft to land on Mars.
Produced by Miracle House and distributed in Japan by Aoshima, this large (38cm long with a 25cm wingspan) die-cast model of the ZERO-X features detachable front and rear lifting bodies (wings), retractible landing gear with folding front wingtips, removable heat shield nosecone, deployable Martian Exploration Vehicle (MEV) with retractible working tracks, and a button-activated spring-loaded escape capsule. Also includes a display stand.
This is the "Captain Scarlet" version of the ZERO-X, featuring a slightly different MEV and including a poster from famed Japanese artist Shigeru Komatsuzaki.
