This is a posable action figure of a character from science-fiction/anime.
The Destron faction finally joins Takara Tomy's "Missing Link" series of "Transformers" figures -- a lineup of virtual reissues that imagines what might our favorite characters might have looked like as figures back in the day!
The information officer Soundwave is a character of immense popularity, known for transforming into a stereo cassette player and deploying his cassette troops from his chest. He joins the "Missing Link" series in his original G1 style, including the original size and the use of die-cast zinc alloy, while adding articulated joints for dynamic posing, a new transformation mode, and deluxe accessories.
This "anime type" release includes a newly designed Condor: Cybertron Mode (Anime Type) -- a Cassettron that has never before been produced in the G1 format! This character first apeared in Episode 1, "More Than Meets the Eye," of the "Transformers" animated series. Despite his early appearance, he was never released as a toy in the G1 line, making this a rare addition to the Cassettron lineup.
For the Soundwave figure itself, the mechanical details -- originally depicted as flat illustrations on stickers -- have been sculpted into three-dimensional forms. Foil stickers are also included for you to apply as you please.
A complete redesign of the joints allows for vastly improved posability, enabling actions such as kneeling and the iconic "eject pose." Additionally, the figure features a third mode: Streetlight Mode, as seen in the first episode of the anime. In this mode, he transforms to resemble a streetlight from his home planet of Cybertron, allowing him to deceive the Autobots.
Accessories include familiar gear such as the Electric Launcher, Vibration Blaster Gun, and Barrier Case. Also included are the headphones, command microphone, and cord -- signature features of the original Japanese release -- with some color variations compared to the D-01 Soundwave (sold separately). (The headphones are for display purposes only; wearing them on the figure's head is not recommended.)
"Secret Emblems" are applied to the Soundwave and Condor figures; the faction symbol appears when warmed with a fingertip. Each figure also features a connection point for a separately sold display stand, allowing them to be posed in action stances. The packaging features newly created artwork inspired by the original release, and a collector's card is included.
