Taiyaki are a traditional Japanese snack: fish-shaped cakes made of a waffle-like batter, grilled and filled with all kinds of delicious things. This fun set from Takara Tomy lets you enjoy your very own homemade taiyaki using your microwave oven! Just put the ingredients (milk, an egg, and pancake mix) into the shaker and shake it up for 60 seconds; then coat the taiyaki tray with a little bit of salad oil, pour the batter in, cover it, and microwave for 100 seconds. Take it out of the microwave and add your favorite filling, snap the mold together to press the two halves of the cake together, and enjoy! Set includes shaker and lid, molds to make large and small taiyaki, lids, and a recipe book and manual (in Japanese). No batteries required--it's kitchen fun for just about anyone!
