Planned and produced by Hideaki Anno, the long-awaited comic book adaptation of Yuki Hijiri's Space Battleship Yamato has miraculously been published in book form for the first time in 50 years!
This comic book adaptation by Yuki Hijiri, serialized during the broadcast of Space Battleship Yamato (1974) but never published in book form, is finally being produced by Hideaki Anno, an avid fan of the series!
This work is a comic adaptation of the 1974 TV anime Space Battleship Yamato, written by Yuki Hijiri, who is famous for science fiction works such as "Chojin Locke." It was published in Monthly TV Land magazine at the same time as the broadcast, and has become a memorable work for many fans. However, due to circumstances such as the manuscript being lost, this elusive work had not been published in book form for many years, despite requests for it to be published in book form.
With the cooperation of various parties, the missing handwritten manuscripts have been collected, and the portions that could not be found have been restored from the magazine by manga artist Hayase Masato.The series will be published for the first time as a complete book containing all six chapters: five main chapters and one side story that was published in a special issue.
To commemorate the publication of this book, the end of the volume includes a conversation between Anno Hideaki and Izubuchi Yutaka, both huge fans of Space Battleship Yamato and its comic book adaptation.
