The Battle Droid is a standard combat droid utilized by the Trade Federation and, subsequently, the Separatist Alliance. Its slender mechanical form makes it both inexpensive and suitable for mass production; it was widely deployed as the Trade Federation's primary combat unit. Units assigned to reconnaissance or anti-personnel sweep missions ride atop a high-speed hover vehicle known as a STAP (Single Trooper Aerial Platform) to conduct enemy searches and pursue targets. During the invasion of Naboo, the Trade Federation deployed countless Battle Droids as ground forces to seize control of the planet.

The Battle Droid featured in "Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phanom Menace" is now brought to life as a high-end 1/6-scale collectible action figure from Hot Toys! The droid's slender, beige-colored body has been meticulously crafted with a keen focus on texture and detail, faithfully reproducing its mechanical structure and joints, resulting in an exquisite finish down to the finest particulars.
