Description
This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.
The F-104J fighter was selected as the successor to the F-86F, which supported the Japan Air Self-Defense Force during its early days. Its compact, lightweight airframe, powerful engine, and high stability even at supersonic speeds exceeding Mach 2 earned it the nickname "the last manned fighter." While primarily produced domestically, a total of 210 aircraft, including imported ones, were deployed, carrying out Japan's air defense missions from the 1960s until the deployment of the F-15J in 1986. While affectionately known as "Eikou" in the JASDF, it is now more commonly known as "Maruyon."
This model kit from Fine Molds is a completely new design using new molds from 2025! Like the actual aircraft, the rear of the model is detachable, allowing for display with the engine exposed.
