This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.
The Fairey Delta 2 was a British supersonic experimental aircraft developed for testing subsonic and supersonic flight, and it made its maiden flight in 1954. This aircraft was a mid-wing tailless delta-wing aircraft with a fuselage that was circular in cross-section, and the engine air intakes were located at the wing roots. It was powered by a Rolls-Royce Avon RA.14R engine with an afterburner. On March 10, 1956, the Fairey Delta 2 set a speed record of 1,811km/h, surpassing the record set by the F-100 in 1955 by approximately 480km/h. This was the first record to exceed 1,600km/h. The first aircraft, W774, was later modified for the Concorde development project, and is now on display at the Fleet Air Arm Museum, while the second aircraft, W777, is preserved at the Royal Air Force Museum.
This 1/48-scale model kit from Dora Wings is a completely new mold; the ailerons, rudder, and landing flaps are separate parts, and the canopy can be posed open or closed. The nose can be positioned in either the flight configuration, or the 10-degree downward-angled configuration used during takeoff and landing. The cockpit and landing gear bays are fully detailed; photo-etched parts, decals, and painting mask stickers are included. Place your order today!
