The title of this photo collection is translated from "Umiwashi to tomo-ni." Back in the days of the WWII, Japanese Navy aircraft were often referred to as "sea eagles" in general. This volume offers 152 b/w pages of hundreds of photos of the aircraft and men of the IJN, all from a private collection. Most of these photos have never before been in print! Nearly every major IJN aircraft type, plus dozens of "behind the scenes" personal-type photos of Japanese aviators and ground staff just trying to survive the conflict. Unfortunately, all captions are in Japanese only, but scholars of the war will appreciate these photos, many of which are extremely clear. A4 format. Soft-cover.
