Special FeatureAerial Photography of the Air Self-Defense Force's F-35A
The F-35A Lightning II, the Air Self-Defense Force's first fifth-generation fighter aircraft, is loaded with new technology, and due to agreements with the U.S. government, it was difficult to cover the aircraft in the magazine due to high hurdles in all aspects.
After much time and coordination with the Air Staff Office, world-renowned aerial photographer Katsuhiko Tokunaga was able to take aerial photographs of the aircraft.
This month's cover story and frontispiece introduce the results of the aerial photography, and a related article provides a detailed explanation of the TR-3 hardware, which is expected to bring out even more capabilities from the F-35A.
