- In addition to winning by capturing your opponent's "King" as in regular shogi, you can also win by having your "King" reach the opponent's territory (the sap zone) with the "Try Rule."
- Each insect (piece) has different abilities!Some insects can evolve or transform under certain conditions.(Grasshoppers evolve by eating grass on the board, mantises evolve by capturing opponents, and water bugs transform into the captured opponent.)
- The reverse side of the board is 3x4, for an even simpler game.
