The Datsun Truck, affectionately known as Datto in Japan, is a compact pickup truck from Nissan.
Although it has long been out of production in Japan, its legacy continues overseas with models like the Navara and Frontier that carry on its DNA.

This time, Hot Wheels has chosen the 8th generation Datsun Truck, which was sold in Japan from 1979 to 1985, as the motif for a new mold item debuting from the 'Terra Trek' line. In both Japan and abroad, the 8th generation Datsun Truck is often referred to as the 720, based on its model number (720 model).
The King Cab variant of this model features reclining seats and a very small rear seat to enhance cabin space.
It is characterized by an extended cabin length and a small window behind the door.
The 4WD version of this vehicle has been modified to resemble a Baja racing vehicle set in the desert, featuring increased ride height, large diameter tires, bumper guards, and a roll bar to protect occupants in the event of a rollover.
