The Corvette debuted in 1953 as a two-seat sports car, a rarity for an American car.
The eighth generation Corvette is currently being sold, the C8, which was introduced in 2020, and is the most redesigned Corvette in history, with the engine relocated from the front of the car to the center of the body, behind the driver, instead of in front.
Hot Wheels subject was the C8.R, an endurance race car based on the C8 and jointly developed by Pat Miller and GM.
The car was widened by 117 mm and equipped with a canard and a large rear wing.
The C8.R is equipped with a 0.7-liter engine that is 0.7 liters smaller than that of the production car.
The car has shown overwhelming speed in the popular IMSA sports car championship in the United States, winning the team, constructors car manufacturing organization and driver categories in both 2020 and 2021.
