McLaren Cars (now McLaren Automotive), the production car division launched in 1990 by McLaren, the famous Formula One racing team (constructor). The company's first production car was the F1, launched in 1993. The new car was extremely expensive, costing approximately 100 million yen.

The McLaren F1 was said to be the world's most powerful car at the time it was new, and as a result of its attention to weight distribution, it adopted an unusual layout with the driver's seat in the centre of the car and a three-seater passenger seat on either side.

Hot Wheels has accurately reproduced the styling as well as the three seats.
