Introducing the modified car magazine "HOT ROD," first published in America in 1948.
The spin-off TV program is "HOT ROD GARAGE."
Hot Wheels has created a realistic new mold of the heavily modified 1955 Plymouth Savoy featured in that show, complete with a patina-style appearance (intentionally leaving rust and wear for aesthetic effect).
The name "Savoy" was used by Chrysler's entry-level brand, Plymouth, for its mid-range models and station wagons from 1951 to 1964.
The Savoy chosen as the motif by Hot Wheels is the second generation of this model.
While the actual vehicle resembles a worn 1955 Savoy on the outside, it is equipped with a modern 6.2-liter Hellcat engine that produces over 700 horsepower in standard form, as well as a one-off tubular steel frame chassis, making it a completely different beast.
