The Hot Wheels Legend Tour is a real-life custom car contest that began in 2018. The winning car is given the honor of being made into a Hot Wheels car, and this Volvo P1800 Gasser was made by Lee Johnston of the UK, who won the 2021 Legend Tour. The base is the P1800, a specialty car from Swedish Volvo produced from 1960 to 1974. The P1800 features a stylish body designed by Frua, a famous Italian automotive design company. Lee Johnston used this car as a base to customize it in the style of the Gasser category, which was popular in the 1960s in drag races in the U.S. (a competition to see who can go the fastest over a quarter-mile distance). It is equipped with a 7.4-liter V78 engine for American cars that has been modified to about 600 horsepower, and the front of the car is lifted up high to fully transmit the immense power to the rear wheels.
