Description
This is a set of optional parts for modifying or detailing robot and other science-fiction kits.
Adlers Nest has been providing the connected hex bolt heads in nickel silver for quite some time. Despite receiving numerous requests from customers, especially those in the car model community, for "silver-colored hex bolts," they found the processing to be extremely challenging, and it was continually postponed.
Nickel silver shares material properties with a Japanese 500 yen coin and exhibits excellent compatibility with soldering work. As a silver color, it is the most suitable and beautiful option for modeling parts when compared to aluminum (whitish) or stainless steel (slightly blackish). (It's already recognized in nickel silver rivet heads.)
On the flip side, it's an extremely expensive material with poor workability, and Adlers Nest made some challenging requests to the factory. To keep costs down, Adlers Nest aimed for production by increasing the number of connections per piece as much as possible through testing. Hex bolts used in various modeling genres are available in molded and resin forms, but our product stands out for its method of inserting into drilled holes, allowing the metallic color to shine through. (Note: The number of connections, etc., should ideally be standardized, but due to issues like processing impossibility, each size has been adjusted based on its limiting factor.)
Compared to brass, it's incredibly difficult to work with, causing continuous issues with chips getting tangled, bending, and breaking. Therefore, Adlers Nest completed the product while making adjustments such as changing the neck diameter, altering the pitch, and adjusting the number of connections. The currently available brass version comes in a 9-connected x 5-piece set, totaling 45 pieces. Starting from the concept of minimizing costs by increasing the number of connections and reducing the quantity, this product was developed.
Similar to the previous version, simply cut above the head with nippers and finish with a light filing for usage. By making it a connected type, Adlers Nest have significantly reduced costs. If it were the usual disposable boss-type, it would probably cost twice as much...
