This is a Japanese roux for making curry sauce and other sauces.
Enjoy some delicious hashed beef in a richly flavored sauce made with red wine for a mellow aroma! It's rated 4 out of 5 on a spiciness scale. To prepare:
Saute chopped onion and beef in salad oil.
Add 650ml of water and simmer for about 15 minutes at medium heat.
Remove from heat, break up the sauce cubes and add them and the contents of the sauce packet to the rest of the ingredients; then simmer for another 10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
This tastes great with sliced mushrooms, or on pasta rather than rice!
