This is an English-language book or magazine about aircraft and/or aircraft modeling.
A complete guide to the P-47, which appeared in the late stages of World War II and served as a main American fighter on the European front alongside the P-51 Mustang.
The P-47 was developed by the American Republic Aviation Company and operated by the United States Army Air Forces. It is a single-engine piston fighter known by the nickname Thunderbolt.
This aircraft was heavily armed with eight 12.7mm machine guns and had a payload capacity of about 1.3 tons, comparable to twin-engine bombers, making it effective as a fighter-bomber.
The prototype XP-47B first flew in 1941 and was adopted as the P-47B. Later, the P-47C was developed by modifying the P-47B, and further improvements resulted in the P-47D.
The P-47D was the most produced variant with 12,602 units built. Continuous improvements were made during production, including the introduction of the bubble canopy from the P-47D-25 model and increased range by adding internal fuel tanks.
This book is a complete guide to the P-47.
With over 200 photos and illustrations including wartime images, along with the latest information, it provides detailed coverage of the aircraft.
Model examples are also included. A must-have book for modelers and P-47 fans.
