This is a train model which is meant to be operated on standard model railroad sets.

The 200 Series Color Shinkansen (E2 Series) requires one size AAA alkaline dry cell battery (sold separately), while the E3 Series Shinkansen Komachi requires one size AAA alkaline dry cell battery (sold separately).

Both the 200 Series Color Shinkansen (E2 Series) and the E3 Series Shinkansen Komachi are train sets that can be connected together (when you pull the lever on the third car, a magnetic connector appears, allowing you to connect the two cars and run them together). They can be connected or disconnected as three-car trains, and can be driven electrically at two different speeds, or pushed by hand when the switch is turned off.
