Description

This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.

The B-58 Hustler was a US Air Force supersonic strategic bomber developed by Consolidated Vultee (Convair).
The aircraft was the first supersonic bomber for the USAAF, a Mach 2 delta-winged bomber, with 116 aircraft built based on the US mass retaliation strategy during the Cold War.

The B-58 incorporated a number of new innovations, including the use of a honeycomb structure for its structural material, which made it an extremely expensive aircraft and thus cost-effective, and it also had a number of problems, such as a low bomb load and short range, which combined to make high-altitude, high-speed penetration tactics themselves obsolete due to improved air defence networks. The aircraft was retired less than ten years after it entered service, partly because its high-altitude, high-speed intrusion tactics had become obsolete due to improved air defence networks.

However, the breaking of various flight records by this aircraft and its promotion as the most advanced supersonic bomber by the US military had a great impact on the military strategy of the East, and there is an evaluation that it was a useful existence in that it forced huge expenditure for the maintenance of air defence networks.

This product is a re-release of a 1957 release from Level.
