Narrow Gauge 80 Series: Running Through the Forest Freely!

The Nekoyama Forest Railway is presumed to be a non-electrified narrow gauge with a 762mm track gauge. This model is created at a scale of 1/80 and 9mm gauge to represent it. The power unit compatible with diesel locomotives is TM-TR02 (B for 2-axle motor cars) from the Railway Collection N Gauge power unit. Trailer conversion parts are compatible with TT-03R for freight cars and passenger cars.

Trailer conversion for diesel locomotives and power conversion for freight cars and passenger cars are not possible.
Please use TOMIX FineTrack N Gauge 9mm rails for running. (Display rails included)
By using separately sold N Gauge running parts and power units, you can operate the model on N Gauge (9mm) rails.

The Nekoyama Forest Railway is located south of the Tomii Electric Railway's Nekoya Line, spreading across the Nekoyama mountain range. The Nekoyama mountain range has been a region known for producing excellent timber, and the forest railway was laid to efficiently transport timber. Timber is transported via two routes: from Ohsugi Hongo Station (Ohsugi lumberyard) on the Nekoya Line to the Noda lumberyard near the coast. The operation is managed by the Nekoyama Forestry Office.

*What is a Forest Railway?
A forest railway is a railway used for transporting timber in forestry operations. Once the primary means of timber transportation, with over 1,000 lines constructed in Japan, they have mostly been discontinued or converted to truck transport due to reduced demand for domestic timber, improved truck performance, and the development of highways, thus fulfilling their purpose.
