From the Revell Website:

The heavy cruiser "Admiral Hipper" was launched on 6th February 1937 and went into service on 29th April 1939. After successful operations in the occupation of Norway in 1940, by the end of 1942 the ship had taken part in almost all the important operations against Allied convoys in the North Atlantic and Arctic Sea. At the beginning of 1943 she retired damaged from service, from March 1944 acting as a training vessel in the Baltic, and at the end of January 1945 evacuated 1,500 refugees to Kiel.
