Description
This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.
The third Kitty Hawk-class aircraft carrier, the USS America was commissioned in 1965 and served until she was decommissioned in 1996, finally being disposed of in 2005 off the east coast of the US.
Italeri's 1/720 kit of the USS America can be built either full-hull or waterline, but building it waterline takes a good bit of cutting of the lower hull, although deep pre-scribed lines on the inner surfaces make that job easier. Includes an air wing of F-14 Tomcats, A-6 Intruders, F-18 Hornets, S-3 Vikings, and E-2 AEW planes.
