This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
During World War II, the German Army developed and deployed a number of self-propelled artillery. Among them was the Sd.Kfz.164, made by using the III/IV chassis developed exclusively for self-propelled artillery, and combining it with the 8.8cm gun that was effective in anti-tank warfare even on the North African Campaign. Initially, it was called Hornisse (wasp), but after that it was changed to Nashorn (rhinoceros) in January 1944. Development began in 1942, and the initial plan was to arm it with the 71-caliber 8.8cm anti-tank gun PaK43, but development was delayed; instead it was equipped with the PaK43/1. Its chassis was a combination of the No. III J type and the No. IV F type, and was extended with the engine mounted in the center. The prototype was completed in 1943; 484 of this vehicle were produced and deployed by March 1945. A command vehicle type with a large communication device was also produced.
This kit from Dragon uses Neo tracks for ease of assembly combined with realism. The interior of the open-top battle room is reproduced in detail, down to the equipment. The cradle, mount, breech plug and crew seats of the 8.8cm gun are all molded in detail for a dense finish. The driver's hatch and rear door can be opened and closed. Photo-etched parts are also included. Order yours today!
