About the Real Vehicle
The Panzer III, which was deployed in 1937, continued to be improved and served as one of the main battle tanks of the German army throughout World War II. Among the various types that emerged, the N model was equipped with a short-barreled 7.5 cm gun based on the J, L, and M variants. A total of 663 units were produced from June 1942 to August 1943, and subsequently, 37 vehicles that returned for repairs were modified into the N model until 1944. The total production eventually reached 700 units. Initially, the IV tank was supposed to be equipped with the long-barreled KwK40, which resulted in the surplus 7.5 cm KwK37 L/24 gun being mounted instead. This gun was then fitted onto the III models J, L, and M. The N model, which became the final production type of the Panzer III, demonstrated its effectiveness in anti-tank warfare as well as fire support. It was also deployed to heavy tank battalions to compensate for the shortage of Tiger tanks and continued to be active on various fronts until the end of the war, including in the Battle of Kursk, which is known as the largest tank battle in history.
About the Model
This model is a plastic assembly kit that reproduces the Panzer III, one of the main battle tanks of the German army during World War II, at a 1/72 scale. It models the N variant equipped with the short-barreled 7.5 cm gun. The kit features the vehicle outfitted with schurzen as seen during the Battle of Kursk. With a reduced number of parts, it is designed to be approachable for beginner modelers while still providing a realistic assembly experience for the turret, body, and suspension. The tracks are a belt-type design for easy assembly. Details like the bolts and welds on the body are represented with great atmosphere. The turret remains capable of rotation even after assembly. The commander's hatch can be assembled in an open or closed position, and a figure of a tank crewman is also included. The markings replicate vehicles that participated in the Battle of Kursk, known as the largest tank battle in August 1943. This kit is great for beginner modelers to enjoy easily.
