This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.
Following on the heels of their -1 Corsair comes this kit of the -1A. This kit features both styles of propeller, the "thin" -1 prop and "paddle blade" -1D prop, both styles of tailwheel, a centerline drop tank and a centerline bomb rack with bomb. This means all the options are included to model a -1A Corsair at any step in the "evolution" of the type as it moved away from the original -1 layout towards something very close to the -1D. All the parts from the original D release are still included, so it is possible to build a D as well if you want. Since some Ds were seen with the centerline tank as well as the wing root pylons, this would be the kit to get if you need that tank! Decals are for three aircraft: Lt. Ira Kepford's aircraft from VF-17 "Jolly Rogers"; "122" from VMF-111 "Devil Dogs," with a very large mission tally board on the side; and "Lulubelle" of VMF-214 "Black Sheep," made famous in a photograph showing her as "Maj. Greg Boyington's Corsair" (in reality it was a staged photo -- aircraft were not assigned to individual pilots in -214 -- but it is still a historic aircraft and Maj. Boyington doubtless flew her on missions at some point).
