This is a spacecraft model.
Adapted from the manufacturer:
The Vostok 1 (Orient or East 1) was the first human space flight, part of the Vostok program. Launched on April 12, 1961, this flight took Yuri Gagarin, a Russian military pilot, into space. This flight marked the first time a human entered outer space, as well as the first orbital flight of a manned spacecraft.
The Vostok spacecraft consisted of a 2.3 meter spherical recovery capsule atop a bi-conical service module. The rear cone of this section, tipped by the retrorocket, was nested inside the upper toroidal tank of the launch vehicle's third stage.
After one hour and 45 minutes, the first space traveler circumnavigated the globe at record speed. Cruising at 328km over the Earth, Gagarin tested zero-G eating and heartbeat control before landing peacefully in a field near the Volga River in the Saratov area.
Yuri Gagarin went on to be a Soviet and international hero. He found death in 1968 in an aircraft training crash.
