Description
This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.
The VH-53 VIP is a variant of the CH-53 Sea Stallion heavy lift helicopter used for VIP transport by the US government. Two of these helicopters have been on loan to the White House since the late 1980s, and can be configured to transport either personnel or cargo. They are assigned to the Marine Corps' HMX-1 "Nighthawks" squadron, but are not intended to carry the President (that's Marine One's job). Rather, they are tasked with carrying the press and other VIPs that travel with the President.
Fujimi's VH-53 VIP helo kit is a re-release of their fine CH-53 with VH-53 markings included to make this special VIP version of the rugged Sea Stallion. The kit is sharply molded in light gray styrene featuring recessed panel lines, pilot and copilot figures, and rotor blades that are as straight as boards (you'll need to warp them either down or up, depending on whether you're depicting your model parked or in flight). An interesting variation for your 1/72 helo collection!
