This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.
The F-14A Tomcat, which has been in operation since September 1974, was replaced in the 1990s by the F-14B, which was equipped with a large-thrust F110-GE-400 engine and updated fire control equipment. One of the distinguishing points in terms of the outside diameter is the change in the shape of the engine nozzle. The F-14B was primarily deployed to carrier air wings in the Atlantic and Mediterranean areas. The 143rd Fighter Squadron (VF-143) is a squadron with a distinctive large-winged leopard painted on its vertical tail. Although its nickname "Pukin' Dogs" is a vulgar expression, it is currently VFA-143, which became a fighter attack squadron and inherited this mark, also uses this as its official unit name.
This 1/72-scale model kit from Fine Molds includes engine nozzle parts for the B/D type, which are different from the A type, to precisely reproduce the differences. Decals for 2 versions are also included. Place your order today!
