The T-33 trainer jet aircraft has supported the Japan Air Self-Defense Force from its earliest days, but it fulfilled the exact same role for the U.S. Air Force. It was originally designed as an advanced version of the P-80 fighter aircraft, so since it had the same performance as a fighter, the T-33 was deployed to frontline combat units. This kit from Platz allows you to build a T-33 marked as belonging to any of three different combat units; the 36th Fighter-Bomber Squadron's T-33s were particularly noteworthy with their blue-and-white striped markings on the nose and tail. This squadron's T-33s were also used to support their aerobatic team known as the Skyblazers.
