Description

This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.

The strongest version of the F-4, the E-type, has improved maneuverability by adding fixed slats to the tail stabilizer, but the weight increase due to the addition of a machine gun and improvements to other equipment has led to concerns about maneuverability. Starting with the later production of the E-type (including the export type), the leading edge flaps on the main wing have been eliminated and replaced with movable leading edge slats, greatly improving maneuverability. This modification, which was also applied to existing production aircraft, was also incorporated into the Navy's S-type. The movable leading edge slats were also called air combat flaps, but in recent years they are called soft wings, and the conventional normal main wings are called hard wings. This model kit reproduces the soft wings with newly molded parts. The outer wing part of the leading edge slats is a separate part to enhance realism. The optical television camera TISEO is also newly molded, and the lens is a clear part.

Decals are included for the 3rd Tactical Wing (3TFW) of the U.S. Pacific Air Forces, which was deployed to Clark Air Base in the Philippines after the Vietnam War. The 3rd Fighter Squadron (3TFS) under the 3TFW contributed to the stability of the South China Sea for a long time with the aim of checking Vietnam and the Soviet Union. The F-4E, with the shark teeth painted on its long nose, is a familiar sight in Japan, as it frequently flies to Yokota Air Base and Kadena Air Base. The package illustration shows the scene on the Clark Air Base apron around 1984. Order yours today!
