Description

This is a resin-cast military vehicle model kit.


The SCR-268 (Signal Corps Radio no. 268) was the U.S. Army's first radar system developed to provide accurate targeting capability, automatic tracking and anti-aircraft searchlight command.
The prototype was put into service in December 1936 and continued to be improved upon, and in a demonstration in May 1937, the prototype successfully tracked a targeted a B-10 bomber from 16 km away and sent radar observation data to the searchlight operations team to illuminate the bomber.
Production began at Western Electric in 1939, with the first formal deployment was in 1940. 3,100 were produced by the end of the war.

This multi-material kit consists of a resin trailer, radar body, etched radar antenna and injection parts.
