The iconic Saturn V rocket is a disposable liquid-fuel multi-stage rocket used in the Apollo and Skylab projects from 1967 to 1973. A total of thirteen Saturn V rockets were launched in that time, sending 12 astronauts to the moon in the Apollo project, including Apollo 11, which succeeded in landing the first human on the moon, and the launch of the Skylab space station. To date it is the only rocket that has allowed manned spacecraft to reach other celestial bodies, and its legendary status is cemented in movies, TV and literature.
