The Polish Fiat 508 wz.30 with mounted machine gun was designed in the 1930s as a light mobile fire support vehicle for the Polish Army, providing machine gun fire support to accompanying infantry units. Although it had low defensive capabilities, its design prioritized mobility and responsiveness, symbolizing the tactical ingenuity of the Polish Army at the time.

Based on the civilian Fiat 508 Junak, the 508 Lasik was militarized by the Polish state-owned factory PZInz. It was lightweight and compact, with excellent mobility in the field. The machine gun wz.30 was an improved version of the Browning M1917, with 7.92mm caliber, and weighing approximately 13kg. It was water-cooled, which allowed for sustained fire, and its effective range was approximately 2,600 meters.
