This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.
This model kit from Fly is a completely new mold! The MB-11 is a surface observation aircraft developed by Marcel Besson of France for installation on the French Navy submarine Surcouf. Equipped with a 175-horsepower Salmson air-cooled engine, this aircraft was designed to be quickly assembled and disassembled. The first prototype made its first flight in June 1935, and was deployed to the Caribbean on the Surcouf in the same year. The Surcouf returned to France the following year, and was equipped with the second prototype.
After successfully escaping from Brest in June 1940, the Surcouf equipped with the second prototype arrived in Plymouth, England, where it was unloaded and deployed to the Caribbean to contribute to the Allied forces. The second prototype, left in England, was named "Petrel" by the British military and assigned to patrol the English Channel for the Royal Navy. At the same time, the first prototype, which remained in France, was assigned to patrol the Mediterranean Sea by the Vichy Navy. Both aircraft were subsequently scrapped due to poor maintenance.
