The Lear Fan was an advanced jet developed by Lear Jet's founder Bill Lear. It was equipped with two engines, and the propeller was turned by a gearbox. The tail wing featured a Y-shaped arrangement, and the lower part protected the propeller. Although it made its first flight in 1981, it was not approved by the FAA due to problems with the gearbox's durability. The project was abandoned in 1985, and the remaining aircraft are exhibited in museums and private collections today.
