About the actual aircraft:
The F-15 Eagle, which is still in service as a mainstay fighter jet of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF), is known for its unique paint and markings, especially the F-15J Eagle used by the Aggressor Squadron, which consists of highly skilled pilots.
The Aggressor (simulated enemy aircraft) unit in the JASDF was established in 1981.
Until 2014, it was referred to as the Flight Instruction Squadron, and after that, it became known as the Flight Instruction Group.
Their primary mission is to conduct air combat training with various fighter units, and they are recognized as an elite unit with dedicated aircraft and highly experienced pilots.
The F-15 Eagles operated by this unit are painted in various special colors that differentiate them from standard F-15s to facilitate aerial recognition.
Their unique color scheme has made them very popular among JASDF aircraft.
In the JASDF, ACMI (Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation) systems are sometimes equipped in fighter jets for training purposes to record speed and posture during air combat training.
The Aggressor aircraft, which play the role of simulated enemy aircraft, are also equipped with this system.
