The Prototype Type 5 Assault Tank Ho-Ri II was a prototype tank planned by the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II. It was designed based on the chassis of the Type 5 Medium Tank Chi-Ri. The plan involved mounting a prototype 105mm tank gun, accommodating a crew of 6. The interior layout featured a central fighting compartment and an engine placed at the rear of the hull, resembling the configuration of the German Army's Jagdtiger.
However, the vehicle never reached completion by the end of the war. Planned specifications included a length of 6.5m, width of 3.05m, height of 3.1m, and a total weight of 40 tons. The crew consisted of 6 members, and the main gun was the 105mm Prototype 10cm Tank Gun (long) x 1. Additional armament included the Type 1 37mm Tank Gun x 1 and two Type 97 Vehicle-mounted Heavy Machine Guns. The engine was a BMW-modified liquid-cooled V12 gasoline engine with 550hp at 1,500rpm.
