This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.
The IAR-81 was a dive bomber developed by the Romanian IAR Brasov factory, and used by the Romanian Air Force. Later variants were redesigned as anti-bomber fighter interceptors, with the dive bombing equipment removed. It was used only by the Romanian Air Force. In 1943, the IAR-81C, the final model of the IAR-80 and 81 series, made its first flight. The IAR-81C was designed as an anti-bomber interceptor fighter equipped with a 20mm cannon, along with the IAR-80C. The removal of unnecessary bombing equipment allowed the IAR-81C to reach a maximum speed of 514km/h. This aircraft was almost identical to the IAR-80C, but was equipped with a more powerful German Mauswer MG 151/20 cannon instead of the Ikaria MG-FF/M cannon carried by the IAR-80C. By the summer of 1943, the IAR-80 and IAR-81 were withdrawn from all units on the Eastern Front and assigned to the air defense of Romania.
