The Blindflugschule is an aviation school in Germany that specializes in instrument flight -- the method of flying an aircraft by relying only on instruments that measure the attitude, altitude, position and course of an aircraft. The German Commercial Aviation School, founded in Berlin in 1925, developed guidelines for instrument flight training. Twelve blind-flight schools were established in Germany during World War II.
The Gotha Go145 is a basic biplane trainer produced in Germany before World War II. It was mass-produced after its first flight in 1934, and was used as the main training aircraft of the early German Air Force. It was also deployed to a unit on the Eastern Front whose main task was to bomb the Soviet Army at night, and it served until the end of the war. In addition to Gotha, it was also produced by AGO, Focke-Wulf, BFW, etc., and was also licensed in Spain and Turkey; a total of 9,965 of this aircraft were produced. The Go145A has a cockpit with open double landing gear, and is an early production type without a main landing gear cover.
