The CKM wz.30 (Ciezki Karabin Maszynowy wz.30) is a heavy machine gun developed and produced by Poland in the 1930s, an improved version based on the American Browning M1917.
The name means Heavy Machine Gun Model 1930 in Polish, and it was widely used before and after World War II.
After World War I, the Polish army had a mix of weapons from former occupying powers and needed a standardized heavy machine gun.
Based on the Browning M1917, Poland changed the caliber, lengthened the barrel, improved the sights, and adapted other features to create a uniquely Polish specification.
Because licensing fees were high, Poland took advantage of the patent lapse within the country and produced the gun domestically.
Comes with a booklet on the Poland campaign and the actual vehicle in English and Polish.
