This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.
This kit from Valom is a completely new mold! The C-46 is the largest reciprocating engine twin-engine aircraft in history, making its first flight in 1940; produced from 1942 to 1945, 3,181 of this aircraft were manufactured. It was mainly used as a U.S. military transport aircraft during the Pacific War in World War II, such as the "hump crossing" that was carried out from 1942 to transport goods from Assam in British India to Kumming in the Republic of China, across the Himalayas. It was later adopted by the U.S. Marine Corps under the name of R5C. It was also used in the Korean War, air transport operations during the Berlin blockade, and in the early days of the Vietnam War, and was also provided to the Japan Air Self-Defense Force and the Republic of China Air Force. Several of this aircraft sold to the private sector are still used as transport aircraft in Canada and other countries.
