Description
This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.
After learning of the abilities of the new American super bomber project (B-29), the German military brass realized none of their current aircraft would be able to achieve the altitudes required in order to intercept these new bombers. Beginning its life as a Messerschmidt project, the Me-155 started off as an upgraded Me/Bf 109 with an upgraded engine and pressurized cockpit. Once Messerschmidt became overloaded with to many projects the Me 155 was passed over to Blohm & Voss who renamed it the BV-155. Blohm & Voss realized there was too many weaknesses with the current Me design and reworked it into the aircraft seen here. Three prototypes were built, however, this aircraft never went beyond the prototype stage.
