Description

This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.

The BB-19 Barrier Boat is a small tugboat primarily tasked with the installation and movement of floating fences to prevent terrorists and operatives from infiltrating bases from the sea.

Although this vessel is just under 5 meters long, it is equipped with a 260 hp azimuth thruster (which features a propeller mounted on a pod that can rotate 360 degrees horizontally), providing it with sufficient towing power and maneuverability.

Originally designed for gathering harvested logs in rivers, this boat is affectionately nicknamed "Boomin' Beaver" due to its operational characteristics.

The U.S. Navy has ordered 13 of these vessels for port security and has deployed them at key military ports, including the Sasebo base, since 2003.

This full hull kit includes etching parts, paint mask seals, a display stand, and one type of decal.
