Dragon's model of the Saturn 1B rocket, which was pivotal in the Apollo space program, will be nearly a meter tall when assembled! Under the leadership of President Kennedy, the Saturn rocket was developed for the Apollo program, the aim of which was to land humans on the moon. The first Saturn rocket had eight rocket engines, which were the same engines used on the Jupiter rocket; the improved Saturn 1B first appeared in 1966. Its second stage boasted a hydrogen engine. The Saturn 1B launched the Apollo 7 mission in 1968, succeeding in putting it into orbit around the Earth; it was also used for the launch of Skylab in the 1970s, and for docking the Apollo and Soyuz capsules in cooperation with the Soviet Union in 1975.
Dragon's kit features a newly molded first stage, including the rocket nozzles, and new parts for the second stage as well. Decals for Apollo 7 and Skylab 2 are included; Dragon will also include a randomly selected Apollo mission emblem sticker! Order yours today!
