This is a resin or white metal ship model kit.
The Andrea Doria was the first ship of the Italian Navy's super-dreadnought Caio Duilio class, completed in 1915. Although she inherited the design of the previous Conte di Cavour-class battleships, improvements allowed her to be completed as a high-performance ship. After the end of World War I, the Italian Navy decided to make a major renovation of the ship, and recommissioned her in 1940, immediately after the start of World War II. She survived the war while enduring air raids and fuel shortages, and was commissioned a third time as the flagship of the new Italian Navy after the end of the war. Her strange career was closed when she was scrapped in 1956.
This model from Orange Hobby recreates the Andrea Doria's appearance in 1945 after a major refurbishment. The main hull is made of resin, for precise reproduction of details and ease of assembly, and the ship can be built as either a waterline or full-hull version. Photo-etched parts are used for tightly detailed parts such as the handrails and derrick poses; the barrel of the main gun is made of brass. Order yours today!
