Description
This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.
This fourth ship to bear the name Independence was originally laid down as a light cruiser, but by order of President Roosevelt her construction was converted into a light aircraft carrier.
With a sleek hull inherited from her cruiser design and powerful engines, Independence achieved excellent speed and served as part of the fast carrier task forces.
The kit features an injection-molded plastic body. The "Standard Version" includes decals, while the "Deluxe Version" adds photo-etched parts, metal components, deck masking seals, and more in addition to the standard contents.
A finely detailed kit that beautifully reproduces Independence as a waterline model.
