Description
This is a resin or white metal ship model kit.
Originally a company that did the resin casting of kits for other manufacturers, Aki has since stormed onto the scene as a maker themselves, and this kit of the US Navy light carrier Saipan is yet another brilliant rendering of a US ship from WWII (well, post-WII...1946!). Without exaggeration, I've never seen finer and sharper detail in a resin kit; this is on par with the finest Tamiya & Pit-Road offerings, and far better than the injection kits from many other firms! Even the tiniest little antennas are provided as crisply-molded parts (I cannot figure out how they got them out of the mold without breaking them!). Highly recommended.
