Here's an intensely detailed kit of the latest state-of-the-art combat ship, the USS Gabrielle Giffords! This new type of ship is designed for combat in littoral (near shore) areas, and it features modularity for multiple missions and a hull structure with low detectability and high-speed performance. The Gabrielle Giffords was commissioned in 2017, the fifth Independent-class ship, and features a trimaran hull. It was the first to be equipped with the Naval Strike Missile (NSM) built by Kongsberg in Norway. Its home port is San Diego, California. 

This kit features a high level of detail, with the NSM's newly molded twin-bow mount quadpack launcher, as well as newly molded radar on the upper part of the bridge and the Mk-46/30mm gun system. The uniquely shaped hull is slide-molded, and assembly is easy. An MH-60S helicopter and rotary-wing unammed aircraft (MQ-8 Fire Scout) are also included.
