This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.

Commissioned May 15, 1941, the Washington has the distinction of serving the entire Pacific war without losing a single man to hostile action. The Washington earned 13 battle stars during World War II in operations that carried her from the Arctic Circle off Norway, to the southern and western Pacific. She was decommissioned June 27, 1947. A joint project with Trumpeter, Pit-Road's 1/700 BB-56 Washington is sharply molded in light gray, red, and black styrene. Depicting as she appeared in 1942, the kit can be built either waterline or full-hull, and includes a drydock-style stand to display the full-hull version. The 16-inch main guns in rotatable turrets can be built with either independently movable barrels with no weather covers or fixed barrels with the more accurate weather covers in place. The five-inch guns can raise or lower. The decal sheet includes markings for both the Washington and her sister ship, the North Carolina (BB-55).
